Mr. Gary Lane, Head of School

With over ten years of experience in Education, Mr. Gary Lane accepted the position as founding Head of School of STEAM Academy of Warrensville Heights in June 2013. He originally joined the Mosaica Education team in 2007 as an elementary school teacher at the Cleveland Arts and Social Sciences Academy where he was quickly promoted to a Lead teaching position and eventually to Lead Curriculum Implementation Specialist, a senior school management position. Prior to Mosaica Education, Mr. Lane worked for Duval County Public Schools and where he served a number of teaching and administrative roles including Grade Level Chair, member of the Shared Governance Committee and member of the School Leadership Team. While at Highlands Elementary he was named Teacher of the Year in 2007. Mr. Lane holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa where he also played Division 1 college baseball.

Mrs. Debroah Mays, Regional Vice President – Cleveland, Ohio

Mrs. Mays, a native of Rochester, New York joined the Mosaica Education team as Chief Administrative Officer for The Cleveland Arts and Social Sciences Academy (CASSA) in 2007. In July of 2011, Mrs. Mays was promoted to the role of Regional Vice President; however she continues in her capacity as the CAO and instructional leader of CASSA.  She brings a wealth of colorful experiences that make her a strong Regional Vice President. She currently holds a Master’s Degree in Adult Learning and Development and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.  She has previously served as a School Principal and an Associate Vice President of an Employment and Training Consulting Firm.  In addition, she has taught Math and Language Arts in an urban setting.  Her expertise in areas of counseling, public relations and academic administration provides a plethora of knowledge in all aspects of leadership.  She has six years of experience counseling and advising students and parents on the academic process, six years of providing academic instruction, five years in training and development, and five years facilitating support groups for individuals of diverse backgrounds.
